Markley joined the district in the tumble of 2008 as superintendent. He will retire June 30, 2022.

Markley used his profession in numerous Missouri college districts. He commenced in 1995 as a substantial university background trainer in Stockton, and later moved on to develop into principal at Sparta Large College. In 2001, Markley took about as superintendent for the Sparta university district in advance of serving as superintendent of the Logan-Rogersville district in 2005. He is currently an adjunct professor at Saint Louis University.
He received his bachelor’s in instruction from Southwest Missouri State College, and then a doctorate in instructional leadership from St. Louis University in 2003.

In the 2018 school year, Markley been given the Missouri Association of Faculty Administrators Robert L. Pearce Award, which is introduced to an outstanding superintendent.
